New Custom 51 Mercury Original Piece & Prints Now Available

Late last week I finally got a chance to finish up this marker & airbrush illustration of a custom 1951 Mercury, as well as the hand painted to match frame which was done using enamels. Both the illustration and the frame were done completely freehand- no rulers or curves were used for the lines. This guy measures 22.25"x29.25" and is the original with an original frame, ready to hang. Ah yes, The Sharpie Cadillac

Someone recently asked me what my 1st Cadillac ink art piece was, and as it turns out it's an actual Cadillac done with Sharpies. This was also the very 1st commissioned Sharpie job for me as well, and it was such a blast a great story. I got to fly to California for a week and do what I love, what's better then that?

68 Cadillac Ink Original & Matching Frame

I got the 68 Cadillac Ink & Airbrush original back from the framers just before the weekend and was able to get it finished before I started on the 70 Chevelle painting. The frame was completed using gloss enamels both by hand and airbrush to match the original piece. This one is one of my all time favorites- something about it is just different then the others. This guy is SOLD but a new Cadillac piece will be underway soon!

55 Buick Ink Piece Part 2

Here's the progress on the 55 Buick ink piece- I've got the background and road just finished up, so now I can go back in and finish all the details on the car like the flake on the roof, highlights, door edges... things like that. This one will be available when finished!

55 Buick Ink Piece Part 1

I got started on a new ink piece yesterday featuring a custom 1955 Buick- all the lines are done with pens and markers completely freehand, no rulers are curves are used. I've got the basic lines and tones of the car down so now I can start on the background, then later finish up the details on the car 

Custom Cadillac Canvas Print & Painted to Match Frame

Live Sharpie Art from last night on a Harley Davidson

Had an absolute blast at the Sev Ven Gallery show last night where I got to do some live marker artwork on this here Harley Davidson. The shows here are always so much fun- live music, great food, and lots of really cool artwork to check out. Can't wait for the next one!

Custom 50 Ford Ink Art & Custom Matching Frame

This piece was the last and one of the largest marker pieces I've done, especially with a painted to match frame. The original piece is on 22"x30" illustration board and features a custom 1950 Ford rendered with gold markers. The background was done with grey tone markers and Sharpies, and the entire piece was done completely freehand- no rulers, tools, stencils or templates were used. Then the original was taken to my local custom framers where they fitted it with glass, a 2.75" wide satin black frame all around, sealed up the back and included mounting wire so it's ready to hang. The last steps were to mix matching enamels (whites, blacks, and greys) to match the original tone of the ink drawing and extend the artwork out on to the frame by hand. The artwork extensions also wrap completely around the edges of the frame. The completed piece measures 27"x35"x1"

Custom C-10 Original + Painted to Match Frame FOR SALE!!

Yesterday I got the Custom C-10 ink original and it's painted to match frame is all finished. This piece was done using Sharpies, a little bit of airbrushed ink, and enamels mixed to match the ink on the frame- comes complete with glass and mounting wire and measures 18"x28". This is the only piece I've done with the added greys in the background so it's a little different then some of the others.

Today is day 2 of my travels out and about near and around San Francisco and my plan is to complete a drawing in my sketchbook daily to keep practicing, and to work in a smaller scale for fun. Sharpie Art Out of the Sketchbook

While I'm out and about traveling and seeing the sights I'll be working out of my 9"x12" drawing pad and posting them for sale- it's a smaller scale then I'm used to working in , but it's great practice!  So here's is the 1st sketchbook drawing of a V-8 done entriely freehand using an Ultra Fine Sharpie.

NEW Custom Car Art for Sale on eBay!

I've got 2 new original pieces for sale on eBay starting at only $100! The 1st piece is titled "Straight-8" and features a 1953 Buick which was the last production year of the Straight 8 motor. If you look closely you can see the 8 pistons hidden into the perspective. The 2nd piece is titled "Dual Bullet" and features the only Cadillac to have the dual bullet tail lights- the 1959 Cadillac. Both pieces are originals and were done completely freehand using Sharpie Markers on 18"x24" paper- NO rulers were used.
