Custom Nova Wagon Painting Finished!

Here's a clean shot of the finished Custom Nova Wagon Painting- this particular piece really gave me a lot of space to do artwork that I feel has visual impact. It's actually a build rendering that the customer gave me a bit of freedom on which allowed me to mix things together in a fresh way. Custom 1969 C10 Dually Roadster Rendering

Yesterday I had a little in between drawings time and really wanted to draw something quick that I'd like to build (one day). The 1st vehicle I ever bought was a 69 C10 which I later sold and replaced with a 72 C10 so they're something really special to me. And I've always liked the open top truck look, but wanted to see it with the cut posts and glass like a modern roadster is. I also like the idea of painting the wheels to match, but having a chrome trim ring to separate the wheel and tire. This is really more of a quick drawing then a complete rendering, but I wanted to get the idea down so that later I can come back and do a more refined version.

Done using Markers, Airbrushed Acrylics, & Pencils on Marker Paper

Custom 1949 Mercury Rendering (test piece)

I'm gearing up to do a rendering of a 49 Merc for a customer-  and sometimes when I'm getting ready to do a rendering I do a quick practice version of it so I can test out some materials. This way I'll already have all my tones and colors picked out and ready to go for the final piece. So this was a test piece I did a couple nights ago of a custom 49 Merc using:

New Custom 51 Mercury Original Piece & Prints Now Available

Late last week I finally got a chance to finish up this marker & airbrush illustration of a custom 1951 Mercury, as well as the hand painted to match frame which was done using enamels. Both the illustration and the frame were done completely freehand- no rulers or curves were used for the lines. This guy measures 22.25"x29.25" and is the original with an original frame, ready to hang. Ah yes, The Sharpie Cadillac

Someone recently asked me what my 1st Cadillac ink art piece was, and as it turns out it's an actual Cadillac done with Sharpies. This was also the very 1st commissioned Sharpie job for me as well, and it was such a blast a great story. I got to fly to California for a week and do what I love, what's better then that?

59 Cadillac Painting

Trying to catch up on emails today and getting some odds and ends done in between to keep making progress- At the moment im re touching some of the highlights on the 59 Cadillac painting.After the 1st round of varnish the colors and contrast came up a lot, and since im getting ready for final varnish this is the best time to get in any last little bits. 68 Cadillac Ink Original & Matching Frame

I got the 68 Cadillac Ink & Airbrush original back from the framers just before the weekend and was able to get it finished before I started on the 70 Chevelle painting. The frame was completed using gloss enamels both by hand and airbrush to match the original piece. This one is one of my all time favorites- something about it is just different then the others. This guy is SOLD but a new Cadillac piece will be underway soon!

55 Buick Ink Piece Part 3 FINISHED!!

All finished with the 55 Buick Ink & Airbrush piece- this one was done completely freehand (no rulers or curves were used) on 12"x24" bristol. Next step is to have a frame made so I can do the traditional frame extended artwork. The original is available and soon prints will be too!

55 Buick Ink Piece Part 2

Here's the progress on the 55 Buick ink piece- I've got the background and road just finished up, so now I can go back in and finish all the details on the car like the flake on the roof, highlights, door edges... things like that. This one will be available when finished!

55 Buick Ink Piece Part 1

I got started on a new ink piece yesterday featuring a custom 1955 Buick- all the lines are done with pens and markers completely freehand, no rulers are curves are used. I've got the basic lines and tones of the car down so now I can start on the background, then later finish up the details on the car 

36 Auburn Painting Part 3 FINISHED!

I wasn't sure I'd be able to start and finish this one yesterday, but it totally worked out and I couldn't be happier with the results. This one was done with a different version of materials then usual- acrylics on 18"x24" illustration board. Next it's off to get matted and framed to be finished off properly.

Well today has been a blast trying all sorts of new materials in putting this one together. At this point I've got just about all the airbrushing done and tones down- next is all the little details that'll finish it up nicely. I'm super super happy with the way it's coming out!

Starting on a new piece today based on James Hetfield of Metallica's 1936 Auburn Roadster. At this point I've got most of the basic body tones and transitions down so I can move on to the trim.
